As a race man and a citizen of this Country. I am hereby fowarding you this letter for your careful consideration, on "behalf of the American TTegroe. Dealing solely on the "lynching" o T Ba&»,
It is a matter of fact, that these cases are becoming more
prevalent.----For we find within a week of the previous month, we
have on record, "three lynchings". One in Maryland, and two in West Virginia. The latter happening in the same town.---Surely there must be some solution to solve this difficult problem.
we appreciate very highly the things you have done for us.----
But the greatest desire that over a milliun NegxoeB are asking
now. is, ample protection from "mob violence".----We want the
projection that will prohibit our being taken from jails.--Only tu be tortured, hanged, and our bodies riddled with bullets by ";nbbs"
Statistics prove that we are a law abiding people. And it is a matter of fact, that we do approve of the law taking it's course. But the mobs claim they do these things to set examples. ---So why not inforce the "law" to punish tire members of the "mobs" for the same reason? Po we have to submit to protect ourselves? Or shall the law >>e efficient enough to give us ample protection? As has bean stated before, something must be done.
