| December 11th 1931, Mr. Roy Wllkins, ..sslstant secretary, National Association for tho Advancement of Colored People, Hew York City. Dear Mr. Hlkina - I received your telegram of December 5th on ray return after several days abaence from Annapolis. The State authorities are taking all measures they can take to apprehend the perpetrators of the Williams lynching. I enclose you editorial from this mornings Baltimore 3un, sunmarizing tho situation so far as the steps I am taking in the matter are concerned. I also enclose you copy of letter I have received oa the subject from a representative of the colored citizens of Chicago* Very truly yours, R-E GOVERNOR. |
