B. A. of C. Executive Committee Shares Indignation Of Eastern Shore
The executive committee of the Baltimore Association of Commerce yesterday considered a report from the trade relations committee of the association which discussed Monday the proposed boycott of Baltimore by citizens and merchants of the Eastern Shore.
After considering the matter an hour and a half the committee unanimously adopted the following resolution:
"Baltimore owes much of that which is best in its own citizenship to the Eastern Shore and the ties of blood and of affinity and the possession of a common heritage and history are a lasting bond between the two areas.
SHARE INDIGNATION "We are confident that the citizens of the Eastern Shore will appreciate the fact that the citizens of Baltimore cannot control the contents or comments of the newspapers.
"The members of. the Association of Commerce share the entirely justified indigation of the people of the Eastern Shore that the serious crime of the relatively few has been used as an, excuse or opportunity for indiscriminate denunciation of the people of an entire section."
PERSONNEL OP GROUP Members of the committee who attended the meeting were: Randolph Barton, Jr., Albert Berney, E. Asbury Davis, Albert D. Hutzler, Irving H. Kohn, M. A. Long, W. M. McCormick, W. H. Meese, John M. Nelson, Jr., Frederick P. Stieff and James Carey Martin.
In the absence of W. Frank Roberts, president of the association, W. H. Jennings, vice-president, presided. Mr. Roberts was out of town.
