Attorney General Lane is at his home in Hagerstown and is not expected to return to Salisbury for several days. SALISBURY, Md., Dec. 23—While the interrogation of eye witnesses to i the hanging of Matthew Williams j was continued Tuesday former Mayor W. A. Kennerly, declared he would stand Arm in demanding sub-poenaes for H. L. Mencken and the editorial writers of the Baltimore Sun and the Evening Sua, as witnesses before the coroner's jury of which he is the foreman.
"I shall demand that a subpoena be issued for Mr. Mencken and the editors of the Sunpapers to appear before the coroner's jury in the case of Matthew Williams," former Mayor Kennerly said.
"I want these gentlemen to understand that when I say yes I mean yes, and when I say no I mean no.
"We have lots of questions to ask them pertaining to the particular case. The hearing shall be open. Those gentlemen might as well pack their grips and embark for Salisbury. They say the members of the

mob are known and that is just the kind of information we are endeavoring to obtain.
"I merely have in mind an orderly procedure to determine this case and without all possible evidence we will not be able to render a decision."
