Fued Between Eastern Shore And Baltimore Hurts Business
That the recent Salisbury lynching and the subsequent unfair and bitterly denuuciatory criticism in the Baltimore Sunpapers has definitely widened the breach between Baltimore City and the Eastern Shore, is daily being reflected in activities throughout the peninsula.
This week numerous commercial
trucks, traveling between the Shore
and Baltimore, bear the following
placards in large letters:
I AM AN
EASTERN SHOREMAN
AND PROUD OF IT.
The hot-bed of the insurrection apparently is throughout the Cambridge and -Salisbury sections of the shore, although bitter resentment is being openly expressed in practically every part of the nine-county-area.
Although business houses, generally, recognize the fact that Baltimore industries are in no way responsible fo rthe expressions of the Sunpapers, thousands of dollars worth of retail and wholesale business which formerly went to Baltimore regularly, now is going to either Wilmington or Philadelphia.
