Dear Judge Pattison:
' I I have instructed Colonel Bau-ghman to have his State Police Force ready for the protection of Orphan Jones when the latter's case comes up in Cambridge, and have also requested' General Reckord to be ready to call one or two Companies of the National Guard if they be needed. I have asked both State's Attorney Child and State's Attorney McAllister to keep in touch with Colonel Baughman and General Reckord in the matter. The
i principal thing I am afraid of is that Jones may be taken to Cambridge without General Reckord knowing about it in time to be of use if his assistance seems necessary. I take it for granted that Colonel Baughman will be advised in time. I am, therefore, suggesting to Mr. Child and Mr. McAllister that they notify both Colonel Baughman and General Reckord before Jones is removed from the Baltimore City Jail, so that proper consideration may be given to the protection which should be afforded him. I will greatly appreciate it if you will
