"Did Nothing To Help Justice"
To the Editob or The Sun—Sir; A mentally defective Negro was lynched and his body burned by a group of supposedly civilized people. The Governor of the State, I aiip sure, did all in his power to appreheid the people responsible for the crime, but up to the present he has been unsuccessful. Why?
Because the Rev. Mr. Elderdice and other cultured people on the Shore did nothing to help the forces of justice. If these people had shown any real desire to help solve the crime, the Shore would not have been the butt of the denunciation from the pen of H. L. Mencken or from any of the other cultured people in Baltimore.
No matter what is done or said now, it will be many years before people will cease to allude to that outbreak of barbarism on the Shore as an example of its refined culture. Henry Nordin.
