Defends The Governor
To the Editor op Thi Sun—Sir; Having been a reader of your paper since my childhood, I beg space in your letter column to say that I consider that you owe our Governor and the citizens of the Eastern Shore'an apology for allowing to be published in your issue of December 28, on the front page, in large headlines, the following:
Declares Ritchie Is Sitting On Political Dynamite As Result Of Shore Lynching This article was given to you by a correspondent of the Chicago Tribune, Tom Petty.
I want to say to you, Mr. Editor, and Mr. Petty, that the citizens on the Eastern Shore, regardless of color or creed, have the highest respect for our Governor and are confident that he is doing everything in his power to find the guilty persons that participated in the recent lynching in Salisbury, Md.
