Shore s Boycott
Threat Discussed
One Eastern Shore member of the trade relations committee of the Baltimore Association of Commerce attended the meeting of the committee yesterday, which was held to consider the proposed boycott against Baltimore I by citizens and merchants of the Eastern Shore.
The committee has nine members on the Shore, and all were invited. Dr. William R. Howell, of Washington College, Chestertown, was the only one present. He represented the Kent County Chamber of Commerce. Of the fourteen Baltimore members, eight attended.
Following the meeting, which lasted from 2.30 P. M. until 5 P. M., Joseph P. Healy, chairman, authorized a statement which was issued by G. H. Pouder, executive vice-president of the association.
"The Baltimore Association of Commerce naturally is interested in maintaining and promoting close commercial contact and harmony with the citizens and business men of the Eastern Shore," Mr. Healy said. "During the last few days the association has received numerous communications from public and private interests of the Eastern Shore, and from its members in Baltimore, relative to a proposed commercial boycott against this city.
"The matter was referred by the president of the association to the already existing committee on trade relations, organized with a representative State membership, to expand business relations between the city and its immediately surrounding area.
"The committee discussed the matter fully today, and its comments and recommendations will be submitted to a special meeting of the executive committee, which probably will be held tomorrow.
"The above is the only official state-inent that, as chairman of this committee, I am able to make at this ¦time."
Those who attended the meeting besides Mr. Pouder, Mr. Healy and Dr. Howell were: B. S. Hornstein, George D. Armour, McKee Barclay, William F. Schluderberg, W. A. Blake, J. S. Sterne and W. K. Plumb.

Liberties Group Seeks To Enter Yuel Lee Case
The Maryland Civil Liberties Committee yesterday sought to enter into the Yuel Lee case, records of which are before the Court of Appeals for review.
The Civil Liberties Committee, of which Dr. Arthur O. Lovejoy, professor of philisophy at the Johns Hopkins University, is president, retained counsel to request permission of the Court of Appeals to file a brief as a friend of the court.
