Members of Lynching Mob

The lynching in Greenbriar County, this State, is being thoroughly investigated. Three have already been arrested and others will be as soon as sufficient evidence can be obtained. The Department of Public Safety and other departments have been requested to use every lawful effort to bring the guilty to justice as promptly as possible.

I received your telegram twelfth, with regard to the recent lynching in Maryland and am writing to express my appreciation. The state officials tinder my direction are doing everything that can be done to apprehend the perpetrators. The attorney general of the state is in Salisbury today.
