Hon. Albert C. Richie, Governor, State House, Annapolis, Maryland.
Honorable Sir:
In the name of the Great State of Maryland, and common decency, you are urged to take drastic action, in this most shameful and disgraceful affair on the Eastern Shore.
This uncultured, narrow, bigoted, savage mob of barbarians have done more damage to the good name of our State, than a generation can repair. They have torn down in one hour your work of twelve years in placing before the Country, this State of ours as a model of lawful government.
Remove from office, and punish those cowardly so-called officers of the law, who lacked even manly courage to perform their duty.
The action you take in this matter will be closely watched by the entire country.
